St. Louis City Mayoral Election Primary

I was pretty frantic prior to the episode airing last night; however, it turned out fantastic. Stay Tuned had an excellent panel of guests who came prepared and each one had insightful opinions about St. Louis City Mayor Election cause and effect.

The best part about the episode was how it helped viewers discover more about the candidates and the issues around picking the next St. Louis Mayor.

#StayTunedSTL trended on Twitter all night.

The St. Louis Beacon has written a great overview about the candidates and what the election means for the region. Be sure to read it before you vote in city on Tuesday March 5.

What does access to College mean for the region?

This episode about college access was a tough one, but important one to make. We only scratched the surface, but I look forward to delving deeper into it on another episode.

Thanks for spending Valentine’s Day with me!

What’s the impact of a college education?

I’m really eager for tomorrow nights conversation on Stay Tuned. We’re going to be talking about the role of receiving a college education in our region. With tuition ever increasing, the ups and downs of higher education funding and finding a job there’s bound to be strong opinions and stories.

American Graduate, a Nine Network Public Broadcasting led initiative, addresses the dropout crisis in the nation will have an impact on the conversation as well.

The Chronicle of Higher Education also gives a very informative breakdown, state by state, about who graduates, who doesn’t and why it matters.

Please join the conversation tomorrow at 9p, CST with #StayTunedSTL on Twitter, or like Nine Networks Facebook page. You can also watch the show live online.

I hope to hear your stories, experiences and opinions about the impact of a college education!

Stay Tuned!

Great talk about Immigration Reform

Thank you so much to everyone who came out tonight to talk about the broad yet important topic of immigration reform! We had so many wonderful discussions, opinions and ideas on air and on Twitter and Facebook. This is a topic that immediately touches the lives of so many people nationally and locally and we’re proud to have had the opportunity to talk about it.

For great info on immigration reform visit our Homeland: Immigration in America. This documentary explores the lives immigration reform impacts.

Much thanks to:

Jack Strauss from SLU, Anna Crosslin from the International Institute, Jorge Riopedre from the Casa de Salud, Sen. John Lamping, John Ammann of SLU Law, Joe Wilson, Amir Kurtovic, Nadia Brown, Rob Koenig of the St. Louis Beacon, Edwardd Alden of the Council for Foreign Relations and Wei-Jen Chua Yankelevich.

And all the audience members who visited and joined in on the conversation on Twitter using #StayTunedSTL
